The hotel was delightful, lovely room with balcony looking over the sea and a very good price. We parked for free in the hotel car park too. The only downside was sadly the meal we had in the evening, it was truly bad. The Spanish food on the menu had been changed into a Spanish/Thai concoction that was unworkable. The terrace is a lovely area for lunchtime/afternoon drinks and the style of the hotel is a beautiful art deco exterior. The receptionist was very friendly and I did mention to her about the food as it really was inedible.
I would highly recommend this Hotel to stay. The reception could not do enough to find me a room with a shower so very helpful. All other staff very friendly, a very nice restaurant would definitely come back.
fantastic location, very pleasant and helpful staff, not forgettable viev on a sea
Rooms are clean, with a nice view over the beach/sea. very close to the city centre and easy to park your car. Staff in the restaurant did not speak English very well, this made it difficult to communicate with them.
Lovely mini break We stayed here for four nights, my 20 year wedding anniversary gift to my husband, very attractive hotel, very comfortable, room with sea view, a balcony with great views. Room very adequate, very clean, comfy twin beds, free wi fi, and a good shower, a mini bar and fridge, and a free (refundable deposit)safe. We did not eat in the hotel as it was our choice to go for room only and we ate out in a couple of local restaurants which were superb. Sea front outside and was a 2 minute stroll down to beach which has sun beds, there are supermarkets close. There is a nice bar with lovely views and atmosphere. You can hire a bike at the sea front for very little. This resort is close to airport (10/15 minutes by bus)In fact one of the perks of this resort is that it is a short taxi ride (10mins? ) €22 euros to airport, some lovely old streets and architecture plus a fantastic marina and many good shops. I would certainly like to return and repeat this break again. From Ireland Sept 2018.
Access for reduced mobility is very good. Good location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good restaurant. 2nd stay and will stay again.
Todo muy bien, volvemos seguro! Plancha y mesas de planchar es lo unico que se podria mejorar
This is a fabulous hotel, ideally situated with fabulous sea views. We had a fantastic room on first floor which was really unexpected. The staff were very helpful especially the receptionist that booked us in. The breakfast was a little disappointing but as continental was acceptable. Hoping to book a longer stay here next year
The rooms were good and clean and as it was high season parking was a problem but for the most part we enjoyed our night at the Chiqui Jo and Paul
Our room was lovely and clean
Lovely room with sea view and balcony. Reception and staff friendly. Decent breakfast buffet.
Location, service and food excelent. But it was a wedding party there that keept awaik most of the night. No roles for them?
It was lovely to return to this superb hotel . Even though we arrived late everything was organised. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We promise to stay longer next time!
Very good relation quality vs price. Nice location near the beach.
IT was better then we expected and we loved our stay at THE hotel!
We really enjoyed every minute of our stay at Chiqui. Sorry that we didn't have time to try out the Panorama restaurant. Loved the view, free parking, the sound and the smell of the sea. Would love to come back.
Excellent situation. Good size room with the expected facilities of an international style hotel, but at a very reasonable price.
Very friendly hotel and easy to find. We will stay again if we use the Santander ferry and next time it will be longer than 1 nigt
Everything promised by website was delivered. A great value when booked well in advance. Picturesque setting at extreme western (?) end of Sardinero Playa 2, the more tranquil of the Sardineros. Can't hold the hotel accountable for clouds or rain, but weather conditions were changing several times a day in early June when we visited. I was ready when clear periods opened up and did manage to get into the clean, not too briny surf of Sardinero 2, as well as walks along the extensive promenades. A fairly easy walk as far as the Magdelena Penisula. All the way to downtown, Renfe, ALSA, or the ferry docks is a serious hike, but we found multiple city bus lines (1.30 euro fare) connected Chiqui's neighborhood to the center of Santander. Did not try the hotel restaurants, though they looked nice. Found many nice restaurants/cafes (including those with sea views) within a short walk as well as a supermarket. Staff was friendly, professional & available (use the front desk to call taxis for you). Rooms were modern & clean, with great mattresses & mostly private balconies from which we could watch young surfers from the nearby Surf School. In the batroom, you can sometimes hear noise from the batrooms above & below you, but that did not disturb the rest of the room. If travelling in Spain, give Santander a chance & make sure to price check Hotel Chiqui.
